What can you expect when you engage us?

We approach our work with a set of guiding principles which guide our work.  These principles offer our clients an insight into what makes us tick.  Here they are:

Integrity

We act with integrity.  This doesn't just mean that we won't get involved in spurious projects. It means that we are open and honest with our clients, about the project, our thinking and our shared expectations.  We aim to build trust and relationship with clients by being authentic in our consulting work.

Facilitation

We are here to support you not to replace you.  Our work as facilitators and process consultants is to oil the wheels of change, learning and development.  We don't do it for you although in many cases we could.  We understand that you know your business and your sector more than anyone so we don't teach granny to suck eggs.  We will however, challenge, poke and prod where needed to get you thinking and challenge your own assumptions about you and your business.

Complexity

We don't think that running a business is complex.  We KNOW it is.  We understand that there are no quick fixes.  No sticking plaster will stay on long enough to stand the test of time.  We recognise that developing strategy, people, teams and businesses takes time.  It is an interactive process which requires our constant attention.  It's not something we do every year as a one off.  It's something we continually work on, refine, change and improve.

Knowledge

Someone once said that 'knowledge is power'.  We agree with this to a point, but would add that in order to create positive change it is 'shared' knowledge that is 'powerful'.  We can all hold back knowledge in order to hold onto power, but when we share that knowledge we find not only does it create amazing results for the business but does the same for the person doing the sharing.  We work to get the combined intellectual capital of a team out into the open.

Information Technology

Like it or lump it technology is an integral part of life and business.  Who would have thought that in the 21st century we are more likely to know someone in California through a chat room or social networking site, than our own next door neighbour.  The use of information technology and the internet is being harnessed more and more by successful organisations.  We encourage the use of IT in our work where it can add value and save time and money for our clients.  For more information on the area of IT and in particular Web 2.0 click here.

Collaboration

Of course we work 'for' our clients in a contractual sense.  We prefer to think of it more like we are working 'with' our clients in reality.  Our approach is based on relationship, communication and collaboration.  This stems back to our role as facilitators and means that we are working alongside you to get you to your destination.

Leadership

We recognise the important role that leadership has in organisational life.  Much of our work is with leaders and the subtext revolves around the role and effectiveness of leaders across a range of disciplines.  Do we deliver management training?  Not in a conventional sense.  We work our leadership knowledge and experience into work so that we are addressing live scenarios rather than just theoretical models.

Sustainability

We understand that the earth is a fragile place and we have a responsibility to be good stewards in all we do.  We consider this at every stage of our work.  For example, we don't place overemphasis on travelling when a phone call may well do.  We drive cars that minimise our environmental impact.  We try to avoid the excessive use of paper in preference for using IT solutions.  These are just a few of the ways that we try to lessen our impact on the environment.
